Max Kobosil, born in 1991, grew up in Berlin in post-Wende times of structural change, he discovered Techno when it emerged from sub culture into modernity, from an early stage he was determined to contribute his share to the city and genre as well as coining both.

​Now a part of the Dystopian stable alongside Rodhad and Recondite, Ashley Burchett has long pursued a fast-paced, rolling brand of techno that has received avid support from the likes of Marcel Dettmann and Ben Klock, as well as secured him regular appearances at Berghain in Berlin. 

Ø [Phase] remains best known for his work on the Belgium based Token Records, and his style ranges from gritty minimal techno to Detroit-influenced material. Originally a mastering engineer, he began producing as a sideline, releasing his debut track ‘Module Overload’ in 2000. This was followed by a string of productions for London’s Surface/Inceptive Records and Ben Sims' Ingoma imprint, all of which saw consistent support throughout the techno community.

He started working with Token in 2007, and his music progressively earned more and more worldwide recognition – significantly on 2012′s much acclaimed “Binary Opposition” single and subsequently on his 2013 debut LP ‘Frames of Reference’. Regular appearances at world renowned clubs such as Berghain in Berlin, REX (Paris), FUSE club (Brussels) and Lux (Lisbon), along with remixes for the likes of Planetary Assault Systems, Robert Hood and Marcel Dettmann, have cemented Ø [Phase]’s position as a vital voice in modern techno.

The rare breed that is Tomoki Tamura started his journey with dance music in Japan and has come a long way since. A move to London in 2004 inaugurated a series of Holic nights that would eventually lead him to rock the floors of top London venues including Fabric, Ministry of Sound, and Plastic People.

Meanwhile, he had gained enough experience and respect to earn himself a residency at the legendary club The END / AKA from 2007 until its closure in 2009.
Quickly growing to become a staple night in London’s nightlife, HOLIC continued to flourish as it brought a fresh selection of quality house and techno djs to the capital. While the party bubbled in London, it also earned permanent residency at one of Japan’s most respected clubs, Womb in Tokyo. He began to play an important roll being the main underground music ambassador connecting Tokyo to London. With immediate affect, Tomoki received the much deserved respect and started to play in all corners of the world.
Almost a decade after HOLIC’s establishment, the launch of the label HOLIC TRAX came naturally in 2012 with a release from none other than Mr. G. The label’s unique raw take on house music has earned enormous praise from underground music lovers. With releases from Tuccillo, Rick Wade, Chris Carrier, Ekkohaus & Rufus, Kate Simko, and Robert Dietz, the label has proven to follow its own taste without compromise. Tomoki is one half of Doublet, a project in collaboration with Italian Ibiza resident Tuccillo. HOLIC TRAX has been the main outlet for their unique take on raw and moody house tracks.
Although proving to be a credible producer, label owner, and promoter, he knows his records the most and is a DJ above all. He now resides in Berlin where he calls home.

​PillowTalk is Sammy D, Ryan Williams and Michael Tello. Based out of the famous Lower Haight District in San Francisco, PillowTalk's music fuses classic R&B, boogie and disco with underground house and techno with an original feel. With releases out on Visionquest, Life & Death and Wolf + Lamb, 2012 is shaping up to be a huge year as they hit the road with the live band.

It all started when the...y found themselves up late, gathered around the baby grand piano in Ryan’s kitchen. Tello would be strumming on guitar and Sammy would be fiddling around on the Wurlitzer. It all just came together organically…without knowing it, melodies would form, songs would appear and before anyone realised, Sammy would be singing some off-hand hook and, hey presto, you had what Arthur Russell would call; “first thought, best thought” compositions.

Soon, these impromptu and improvised jam sessions were recorded on iPhone apps before being taken to ‘the lab” (a space about two blocks away) and from there they were transformed into alluring, charming, dance-pop ‘songs’.

With experience of, and backgrounds in, so many genres, Pillow Talk are making some seriously inspiring and beautifully original music. If you’re trying to pin down their exact sound you may have to refer to their motto of ‘D.A.G’ (destroy all genres - a term borrowed from a famed underground San Fran DJ). With influences ranging from the Beach Boys to Sam Cooke, from Freddie Hubbard to Harry Nilsson, and from Larry Heard to Theo Parrish, you can tell these guys are ruled from the right side of their brains. Having just started composing, this trio are still finding their own true groove, with their full potential yet to be explored…

A delightful debut single (‘Love Makes Parks’ on the revered Visionquest imprint) is soon to be followed by a beautiful full length on Life and Death, before following that up with another finely crafted EP for NYC house darlings, Wolf + Lamb. As well as that, a live show is in the works, soon to be debuted later this year. We look forward to following this fresh and exciting new sound and realize some of your deepest secrets are revealed “Pillow Talking”, so we are just lucky to listen in…

​Max McFerren

Max McFerren is a DJ/Producer living in Chinatown, NYC. A long time DJ at local Brooklyn and downtown Manhattan parties, he now resides at the Bossa Nova Civic Club playing and co-booking the monthly Worldwave party. He has released most notably on 1080p with equally life affirming tracks on labels Ultimate Hits out of Glasgow and Physical Therapy’s Allergy Season.

His 2015 ended with a 1080p Euro Tour and a crucial appearance at the Boiler Room HQ in London. Recently he featured on Hypercolour’s Rinse.fm show and Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space, displaying the most focused version of his singular take on hardcore, ambient, techno and house. 2016 promises to be full of surprises including remixes, collaborations, and a full length.

Don Williams is one of the most subversive artists of the Berlin techno scene. His path of eastern German Techno-socialization began in the mid-nineties and led quickly from mere record collector up to producer and co-founder of the label Tokomak. It was here that in 1999 his first release appeared, followed by releases on Mark Broom’s Pure Plastic, as well as Rewired, Styrax and Styrax Leaves.

He founded his own label Mojuba in 2005. Since then it stands for elaborate and one-of-a-kind Deep House releases. His Techno productions found an adequate home in 2006 with the formation of the label a.r.t.less. In 2008 followed the label wandering, which features many different styles. In his label catalogue, besides his personal releases, one can find artists such as Chez Damier, Ron Trent, Steve Rachmad, Mark Kinchen and many, many more.

Being at home with many different styles of electronic music, as a DJ Don Williams stands for Detroit-style Technosound with just the right amount of historical awareness, internationally as well as on the home front at Panorama Bar, where since 2008 the Mojuba-labelnights are hosted.

Currently Don Williams is working on numerous new projects, focusing mainly on his own productions and remixes as well as completing his debut album – always commemorating the legacy of house and techno.

Producing music for more than a decade, the named master of the neo acid scene, Vienna’s Tin Man continues to evolve and invigorate with each and every release.

Tin Man is an artist in the truest sense of the word. Over the last decade now the man born Johannes Auvinen has explored an ever evolving sound palette that touches on house, techno and ambient. Much like his namesake’s character in the Wizard of Oz, he has been on a mission to find his true self, except this Tin Man’s medium has been music. 

Most recently the California born producer and live act has been responsible for reinvigorating the acid scene with his unique and cerebral manipulations of real Roland 303s. His tracks have been laced with slow and subtly shifting patterns that are infused with a very real machine soul and exude captivating warmth. The finest proof of this yet was his slowly unfolding and tender LP, Neo Neo Acid on Absurd: it was his sixth full length to date and was arguably his most coherent and comprehensive work. 

Taking influences from “Chicago and radio pop rock as well as melancholic UK electronics and Sahkö” Tin Man’s extensive discography also explores less sublime and seductive sounds on labels like Keys of Life and Acid Acid, and plenty of raw sonics on albums like Scared. He is also part of The Acid Symphony Orchestra (a live super group that features artists playing on ten 303, 707 and 808) and has turned out a standalone neo-classical and ambient work, Vienna Blue, which proves he does so much more than pure dancing music. 

“I started fiddling with music when I was in college,” he says. “I was collecting records, anything electronic; from ambient to techno to computer music. When I was out of school, and had steady work, I bought some gear and then tried imitating the music I liked with mixed results.” Before long though he found a sound that was truly his own and has continued to do so over and over again ever since. 

In 2014 this modern acid master plays live on 303s, 707s and plenty more bits of hardware, always creating textured soundtracks on the flying using a range of FX and skills built up over the last decade. He never fails to make people dance to his beat whether he’s playing festivals in Japan, influential clubs in Europe or dirty back rooms across America and puts most similar acts to shame.

Over twenty years into his career, Ian Pooley continues to embody the heart and soul of real house music. As an ever-present favourite of house & techno fans and DJs, Pooley remains a highly regarded and respected figure within modern electronic music.

With five artist albums under his belt, Pooley has perfected the balance of classic and contemporary sounds in his ever-evolving production work. With a studio overflowing with analogue gear and two decades of production experience, he is currently enjoying one of the most fruitful periods of his career, with new material drawing more newcomers to his ever-growing fanbase, while classic older cuts are being reintroduced to new generations via mixes on labels such as Ostgut Ton.

His current attentions are primarily devoted to Pooledmusic and Montage, the two labels he runs out of his adopted hometown of Berlin. In the eleven years since Pooledmusic began it has been the primary source of new Ian Pooley material - including his 2012’s ‘What I Do’ LP - while also providing a home for emerging talents such as Spain’s Indira Paganotto and Munich’s Show-B. Meanwhile its techno sister label Montage has made an instant impact since its launch in early 2015, debuting with a new EP from Pooley’s reborn Silvershower alias.

In addition to his own labels, Pooley still regularly contributes to some of the scene’s biggest labels, with recent appearances on Innervisions, Ovum and Tsuba. 2015 promises even more activity, with brand new material - including a sixth studio album - and reissues of classic tracks in the works.

As the senior resident DJ of Grounded Theory, one of its founders, curator of its celebrated agency and events, and a DJ of worldwide renown for ability and tastes, Henning Baer forged his enviable résumé with his own hands.

Since its beginning in 2009, Grounded Theory has grown from a bracing new idea in Berlin techno to an institution of artistic nightlife both at its home and around the continent. Directed with acute vision and unerring judgment, its philosophy extracted from Henning’s long years at the front lines of electronic music, it remains diverse and cutting edge. Mirroring Henning Baer's DJ sets, Grounded Theory combines music from different eras and areas, remaining rooted in techno while shedding light on sounds less frequently heard on Berlin dance floors: forward UK music, experimental electronics, and underground techno names from across the globe, both new and established.   

Following on years of closely-synchronized work with fellow resident Milton Bradley, Henning Baer is now asserting greater independence with innovative new production styles on a recent EP for Taanstaafl Planets. The launch of his own MANHIGH imprint buttresses the foundation of his own work, to be built up alongside a select few whose productions meet the curatorial acumen of one of techno’s finest ears. After esteemed releases on Sonic Groove, K209 and elsewhere, fans worldwide have much to look forward to from a label whose standards match those of Grounded Theory. 

Already a respected artist, Henning’s diligence has transported him from the counter to the shelves of Hardwax and from the floor to the booth of Berghain in regular appearances. Now he is building further upon these impressive accomplishments, profoundly shaping contemporary techno from recent memory into the foreseeable future.

Damiano Von Erckert [AVA / DE]

A love for the golden era of 70's, 80's and 90's funk, house and soul clearly resonates through his production output and he is quick to credit the likes of Stax, Blue Note, Strictly Rhythm and KDJ as key influences. His ability to reach back, relish and recreate classic elements, diverting away perhaps from traditional house orientated means, really enhances the authenticity, originality and positivity of his sound that is now starting to gain notoriety amongst his peers.

Surprisingly enough, his early endeavours didn't catch the eye of many prospective labels, ultimately prompting a young Damiano to start his own back in 2011, AVA. Records. Now in full swing and already working alongside the likes of Lowtec, Tito Wun aka Twit One, MCDE, Georgia Anne Muldrow Andy Vaz, Christopher Rau and Funkycan, AVA. have a strong desire to build a platform from which they can pay tribute to contemporary club music and having initially compiled what is surely the first real prominent house and techno collective in Cologne, they now look with a wider scope to further develop the multifarious label, for which Damiano is leading the A&R. Maintaing a retro feel throughout their ethos and core value, every release's cover is hand made with meticulous detail, with the artwork usually sourced from vintage photographs or pictures.

"ava." brings a lot of House & Techno artists like Christopher Rau, Lowtec, Murat Tepeli, Andy Vaz, Funkycan, Ugly Drums etc. together and provides a platform for joint projects and new ideas.

Daniel McCormick (aka ITAL)은 실험전자음악프로젝트인 "Mi Ami, Sex Wonker"라는 이름으 베테랑 밴드로 활동하던중 2012년, 그해 가장 눈여겨봐야할 앨범중 하나인 "HIVE MIND"를 ITAL이라는 이름으로 나타났다. 5섯곡으로 구성되어 한곡당 10분이 넘는 트랙들은 루프가 걸린 FX 사운드, 거슬리는 리버브사운드, 다소 어둡고, 바쁘고, 멜로디컬한 (전형적인 디트로이트 테크노와같은) 한 소리들이 주욱 늘어진 긴 하우스 음악을 만들어냈으며 2년간 다양한 싱글곡들로 발배를 하기 시작했다.

종종 ITAL의 음악은 "싸이키델릭" 하다고 평가되기도 하지만 그의 "Endgame"의 앨범처럼 내면의 고요함이 느껴지면서 Manic하고 불안함의 끝자락에 서있는 앨범도 드물것이다.

그는 그의 와이프인 "Aurora Halal"과 함께 아시아 투어에 올라섰으며 연일 파우스트에서 이 부부의 공연을 즐길수있다. (금-Ital / 토- Aurora Halal)

미국 출신의 "오로라하랄"은 지난 6~7년간 "Mutual Dreaming" 이라는 이벤트를 브루클린에서 성공적으로 진행해 왔다. 그로인해 뉴욕을 포함한 테크노와 하우스 언더그라운드 신은 조금이나마 성장할수 있었다. 그녀의 작품에서도 알수있듯이 그녀는 음악에만 관심이 있는것이아니라 사진, 비디오에 큰 관심을 두어 늘 실험적인 작품들을 도출한다.
" 나는 연상되는 이미지들, 최면을 유발하는 영감들, 압도되는 감정과 불안함의 조화 그리고 불안한 순간들이 좋아요, 그러한것이 없다면 차라리 집엘 가겠어요" 라고 언급할만큼 그녀에게서 다양한 음악적 경험은 중요하다는것을 알수있다.
딥하면서도 신비로움이 가득한 그녀의 공연은 곧 그녀를 밖으로 끌어내었고 최근 그녀는 남편인 ITAL과 함께 작업물을 내놓으며 함께 한스테이지에서 공연을 하며 전세계를 투어중이다.
오는 15/16일 Ital(DJ SET)과 Aurora Halal(LIVE&DJ)의 공연이 파우스트에서 양일간 있다.

Marc Piñol is a music journalist since 1994 and a DJ since 1997.

Piñol began playing records at Nitsa Club (Barcelona) in 1999 and he was playing there as a resident until 2013. He has been selected best DJ of the year several times in the most important Spanish music magazines.

Marc Piñol is now involved with the label of John Talabot, Hivern Discs, releasing his own productions and remixes.

그의 24년이상의 경력과 이러한 성향은 곧 그의 작업물에 반영되었다. 악명높은 "Geffen"을 비롯한 다른 그의 초기작업물 "Render"는 그와 함께 하고있는 Crato , Jens-Uwe Beyer가 운영하는 "Magazine"에 첫 발매를 가졌다. 2010년 "Render" 를 비롯한 „What Is A Number, That A Man May Know It?“ 앨범이 히트를 쳤다.

그즈음 그가 생물학과 그의 예술학을 마친 퀠른에서 언더신을 일군 일원이기도 하였다. 그는 아직 퀠른에 거주하며 그만의 독특한 스타일을 개발하고있다. 어쩌면 이러한것들이 그를 Berghain 부터 Burningman 까지 그를 이끌었는지도 모른다. 그의 첫 내한공연은 이태원 파우스트에서 4월 8일(금)에 있다.

1998년 Aril Brikha의 "Groove La Chord"는 장르의 벽을 뛰어넘었다. 테크노, 하우스 또는 딥하우스?

Derrick May가 플레이하기 전까진 Aril Brikha자신도 그의 앨범의 성공을 예상하진 못했다.

10대초반 부터 가졌던 전자음악에 대한 관심은 그를 Atari와 시퀀서들을 사용하게끔 하였고 결국 곡을 쓰게되었다.

처음 그의 친구들은 그의 음악을 "Detroit techno"로 표현했으며 정작 본인은 그 음악이 무엇인지 알지못했다.

Aril Brikha는 그의 초기 작품인 스웨덴의 Dunkla, Plump, 그리고 Placktown에 보냈으나 그의 음악은 곧

그의 로컬 레이블들이 찾는 음악이 아니라는것을 깨닳고 다른 레이블들을 찾아나섰다. - 그중엔 Derrick May의 Transmat Records도 포함되었다.

Transmat 레이블은 Brikha에게 연락을했고 자연스레 그의 "Art Of Vengeance EP"는 (‘Groove La Chord’포함) 자매레이블인,

Fragile에 1998년 발매되었다.

Transmat와 함께해 나감에 따라 그의 라이브 공연은 DEMF 페스티벌을 포함하여 점차 전세계적으로 늘어갔다.

오는 2월 13일 그의 라이브셋 공연이 파우스트에서 있을예정이다.

FCL은 벨기에 출신의 San Soda와 Red D로 구성된 하우스 듀오프로젝트의 이름이다. Red D의 레이블인 "We Play House"에서 초창기 몇개의 리믹스후 그들은 하우스 씬에서 명성을 쌓게 된다. 특히 ‘Let’s Go’와 ‘More Than Seven’트랙은 벨기언 재즈 싱어인 "Lady Linn"이 보컬로 참여하였고 올드스쿨의 하우스음악을 현대에 재부흥을 일으키는대에 큰 기여를 한곡이기도 하다.

Audiojack의 ‘Stay Glued’야 말로 FCL 이 단순이 한곡의 히트로만 유명해진 아티스트가 아니었음을 다시한번 일깨워줬으며 FCL만의 스타일로 재해석된 ‘It’s You’ 특히 "San Soda Panorama Bar Acca 버젼(파노라마 바에서 플레이를 마친 일요일 아침에 영감을 받아 이름을 땄음)"은 하우스 음악 역사의 콜렉션이 되어버렸다. 이곡은 곧 레젼드인 MK 부터 시작하여 Larry Heard 그리고 David Morales 에 이어 Mousse T까지 리믹스가 되었다.

2015년 그들은 Defected In The House 믹스 컴필레이션에 참여하였고 그후 그들의 수많은 싱글&리믹스곡들을 접할수 있다.

LIVE SET by Willis Anne  [LAN / DE]

Not just a purveyor of dusty club music, LAN (Live Act Night) is a conceptual project also operating within the realms of event and video. From curating the Out Of Sight podcast to the POV video series, Live In My Room, live machine music with plenty of soul has been a calling card of the Berlin based project. Enlisting the services of friends and peers to work on the various facets, we’ve seen the likes of Cloudface, Steve Summers, Perseus Traxx and Steven Tang join founder Willis Anne in both the booth and the studio since LAN’s inception in 2013.

After releasing his digital-only debut on LAN a year back, having his ‘The C Track‘ appearing on both LAN’s christening release as well as repping the Nous crew on their in-store exclusive split ‘Nous Heroique‘ with the mighty Berceuse Heroique, Willis featured a track on the second volume of the Berlin-based outlet’s acclaimed Ethos Series. Lando 
2010년 Lando는 베를린으로 이사했으며 캘리포니아출신인 그가 활짝펼수있도록 허락해주었다.

클래식 하우스, 테크노, 에시드까지 그의 작업물을을 보면 다양한 성향을 볼수있다. 그러나 곧 베를린에서의 나날이 그의 음악을 기계적펑크와, 트리피한 멜로디, 파동의 베이스라인을 갖춘 그만의 뚜렷한 색을 가지게끔 하였다.

미학적인 그의 DJ셋을 들어보면 그가 왜 Berghain/Panorama Bar, Trouw, Fabric, Sub Club, Space, 그리고 Dimensions Festival같은곳에서 플레이 할수밖에 없었는지 알수있다. 나아가 곧 베를린 Tresor클럽의 레지던트가 되었다. 

Rush Hour, Hotflush, Numbers, Icee Hot, Ultramajic, 그리고 Stillcold와 같이 수많은 레이블에서 인상적인 작업물들을 쏟아내었고 그는 또한 Parris Mitchell, Machinedrum, Will & Ink, 그리고 Sepalcure 에게서 리믹스 요청을 받았다. 그는 현재 그의 레이블인 Myth Music을 Aaron Castle (Hotflush, Boiler Room)과 함께 운영하고있다.

Losoul - Dj and Producer.

음악을 만드는에 있어서 0과 1이라는 숫자들에서 만들던지, 써킷과 카드를 이용하든, 아날로그 장비 혹은 디지탈장비를 사용하든 값어치있는 예술이 되던가 그냥 하나의 서비스가 되는가는 확연한 특징으로부터 정의될 수 있을것이다.

LoSoul은 독특한 프로듀서집단의 일원으로서 늘 자신만의 사운드를 가진 축복받은 한명이라할수있다. 그의 음악적 변천(사회화) 과정에 있어 LoSoul은 다양한 스타일(테크노와 하우스, 70년대의 펑크소울, 재즈를 기반으로한 힙합 등)의 범주를 오간다....

In the course of his musical socialisation, Losoul came across a kaleidoscope of different styles: Techno- and House blueprints, Funk and Soul of the seventies, prehistorical Hip Hop and of course a bit of Jazz for the mind.

프랑스의 작은마을 "스트라스부그"에서 온 " Sovnger " 

다양한 범주의 음악스타일을 가지고 있으며 테크노를 기반으로 한다. 수많은 오리지널/리믹스 트랙들을 발매 후 최근 "Sound track of a night"이라는 첫 앨범이 발매되었다. 파리의 "소셜클럽, 렉스, 등"에서 플레이하였던 그의 셋은 충분히 역동적인 밤을 만들어 줄것이다.

Avez-vous déjà rencontré un somnambule hyperactif ? Son premier EP, sorti sur le label d’Alex Gopher, playlisté par les plus grands (Justice, Boys Noize, Busy P…) a même sa place dans le set des 2ManyDjs lors de leurs fameuses Soulwaxmas !

Sovnger enchaîne depuis les remixes (Alex Gopher, the Aikiu, Sharam Jey, Shindu...), collabore avec certains artistes comme The Subs et sort régulièrement des EPs sur des labels tels que Bad Life Records (le label d’Autokratz), Blood Music (le label de Fake Blood), OMGITM Records, Boxon Records…

Sovnger ne dort jamais et vient de terminer son premier album !

Sortie prévue pour fin 2014 sur le label Police Records.
Bien plus qu’un simple producteur, Sovnger surprend par ses dj sets : subtil mélange de scratches, de lancés de bouteilles d’eau et de vidéos prises sur le vif, le tout libéré avec une énergie sans égal, de Paris à Tokyo, en passant par Séoul ! Sovnger n’a pas fini de nous tenir éveillé !

Mørbeck [Code is Law I Berlin]

베를린태생의 "Mørbeck"은 2002년 부터 작곡을 시작한다. 몇가지의 프로젝트 과정중 그는 처음으로 2010년 VAULT SERIES 에서 첫 EP를 발매하였고 그후로 PERC TRAX, SOMA, M-REC등과 같은 레이블에서 다양한 곡을 리믹서로 참여하게 된다. 

지금은 없어진 베를린 보일러룸의 홈그라운드 였던 "Stadtbad Wedding"와 MONASTERIO 에서 레지던트 아티스트로 수년간 활동하였다. 
2013년 Code Is Law 레이블을 시작하여 테크노음악에 대한 열정과 비젼을 공유하고있다. 최근 보일러룸 데뷔(Boiler Room) 시리즈로 잘 알려지게된 "T.R.I.P.S" EP는 그의 현재 음악적 성향을 뚜렷히 반영하고 있다.
